Evangeline's Ghost starts out in 1946 when an MI6 operative finds herself at the Pearly Gates, being assigned to an eternity in Purgatory. She argues that she must be given the chance to avenge her murder, so she can rest in peace. Evangeline ends up as a ghost in the Waldorf-Astoria, where she stumbles upon another ghost, fellow agent Nigel Townsend. Together they uncover a plot to assassinate President Harry S. Truman. Their ability to foil the scheme is hindered by the Celestial Hierarchy, which has established strict guidelines for the behavior of phantom souls remanded to earth. Evangeline and Nigel risk eternity in Hell, as serial treacheries against the president unfold: from a shooting attempt at a Broadway theater, to a tampered brake line on the President’s limousine, to a deadly explosion at a private party in Washington D.C.
This book is an offshoot of Code Name: Evangeline, which follows the career of an unlikely female spy during WWII.
I had originally planned for seven books in the Code Name: Evangeline series, including missions during Kristallnacht, the London blitz, Pearl Harbor, the Germans landing on Long Island, NY, the invasion of Normandy and the bombing of Hiroshima.
However, only the first book in the series has now been completed.
I've outlined the second book and have written segments of it, but before I continue, I would like to see feedback about Code Name: Evangeline.
While I wait, I've decide to do what movie makers do -- create something out of sequence. It worked really well for George Lucas and Star Wars; and was done again with Hugh Jackman's Wolverine: Origins which was filmed after three X-Men movies had already been released.
So, I took a page from their book, so to speak, and wrote out of sequence.
A Guideline to the Hereafter has also been added, for people who want to know the rules that govern Evangeline's actions.
Return here for news on how to follow our intrepid heroine as she battles the forces of evil.
